my friend Larry

Larry received his tax check and wanted to get a new computer. I helped him pick out a model appropriate for the things he wants to do, and picked it up and set it up for him.

Larry had seriously out grown his previous computer; so old it was unable to run most flash and couldn't download or run large applications. The sound card was shot, and there were unexplained errors that occurred all the time.

Larry's new computer is such a serious upgrade. He has wireless internet (instead of his previous arrangement: dial-up), full sound, and a DVD read/write drive. Not to mention speed, ease of use and an efficiency that he is completely "wowed!" by. To start he opted only for the computer, not replacing his printer or monitor. But now he wants a flat screen monitor.

Santa came early this year.

and delivered a new printer! The Epson Artisan 725. My old HP deskjet from the early 00's finally bit the dust. This thing is really nice. It can scan, make copies, prints photos with no borders, uses six inkjet cartridges and the photos are supposed to last many years without fading. It can be used wireless though I have it direct connected to my Mac via USB cable. Also, you can print direct from SD/xD or CF memory cards and It can also print labels on CDs/DVDs. .. now if it only had a built in espresso machine.
